Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is opening a new Research Center at SPEROS and seeks an on-site EHS Specialist. You will own one or more institutional EHS programs and run day-to-day safety operations at a brand-new campus, coordinating with the main campus team for safety standards and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in science or safety, 3+ years of EHS experience, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or occupational safety; 3+ years in EHS or university setting required.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site EHS programs for SPEROS and the Research enterprise (Inspections, Training, etc.).
• Conduct safety audits and routine inspections; document findings and drive corrective actions.
• Manage hazardous waste processes with Hazardous Materials Manager.
• Prepare for Joint Commission surveys, DEP inspections, and Fire Marshal walkthroughs.
• Support policy reviews and annual SOP updates; participate in on-call rotation.
