Job Description: Developer Relations Lead at Botpress

We are seeking to hire our first dedicated Developer Relations Lead to grow our thriving developer community of over 700,000 users worldwide. This role will serve as the voice and advocate for our developer community, engaging directly with users daily across platforms like Discord, YouTube, and social media.

The role is primarily external-facing, requiring deep engagement within developer communities. You will become an expert builder, understanding how individuals and businesses deploy AI agents. Internally, you will act as a liaison, translating user feedback into actionable insights for our product team.

As the founding Developer Relations Lead, you will build this function from scratch, setting strategy, establishing best practices, and shaping the long-term vision for community engagement at Botpress. We seek someone with hands-on experience in developer relations, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to work autonomously in unstructured environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage community engagement across platforms such as Discord, LinkedIn, Reddit, webinars, and hackathons.
• Promote Botpress as the leading platform for building and deploying AI agents.
• Understand developer needs and feedback, translating these into product insights.
• Create technical demos, tutorials, and sample applications using Botpress.
• Organize and lead virtual and in-person events to foster community growth.
• Collaborate with marketing to share success stories and align messaging.
• Provide strategic feedback to influence product development.

Minimum Requirements

• Coding skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js with confidence in debugging and demos.
• Ability to develop AI agents using Botpress GUI and API.
• Experience in community management, developer advocacy, or related roles.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort with public speaking and virtual events.
• Understanding of Git workflows and web application development.
