Job summary

Cardinal is seeking a founding design engineer in San Francisco to shape the end-to-end user experience of our AI revenue platform. You’ll ship production UI in React and TypeScript, not just Figma files, and own the intersection of product, design, and code.

You’ll define how Cardinal feels from first impression to daily use, transform complex workflows into intuitive interfaces, and build a scalable design system that accelerates growth.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
• Experience building scalable design systems.
• Strong sense for user experience and product thinking.

Responsibilities

• Own core product flows from 0→1 and beyond.
• Design the core loop to be effortless and sharper each cycle.
• Define agent behavior and interaction in the UI.
• Build the UI directly in the codebase using React/TypeScript.
• Create a scalable design system to accelerate shipping.
• Nail onboarding and time-to-value for new users.
• Prototype quickly, test with real users, and iterate weekly.
• Collaborate closely with founders and engineers.
