Job summary

BoWatt is building agentic requirements and systems engineering software for manufacturing. The company seeks a frontend designer with a strong sense for UI/UX to define our design system and ship features using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.

You will work with product, engineering, and customer success to deliver polished interfaces. The role is based in Germany with flexibility for remote, hybrid, or onsite work and includes equity and generous vacation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of frontend production code experience.
• 3+ years of web design experience.
• Portfolio of projects showing product sense and design taste.
• May have interest in upskilling into backend development.
• Based in Germany with the right to work there.

About BoWatt

BoWatt is building agentic requirements and systems engineering software for manufacturing. We believe AI will reach PhD-level engineering capability within the next 10 years. This will unlock massive value across complex manufacturing industries. Cars. Planes. Rockets. Factories. Chips. Medical devices. All will be engineered with agents.

We bootstrapped BoWatt to €500k+ ARR before raising our first round. BoWatt is backed by tier-1 investors , including Atlantic Foodlabs, Buildery (CDTM affiliates), and Prequel Ventures, along with angels from Cohere and Luminovo.

You’ll join a small team of startup builders focused on speed, ownership, and execution. Over half the team are former founders , with backgrounds across DeepTech AI, gaming, and other startups. We’ve studied and worked at institutions and companies including Stanford, TUM, Google, EA , and YC-backed AI startups.

The role

• You will define and implement our design system together with the product team and improve the overall UI/UX of our platform.

• You will work closely with product to design beautiful user experiences for upcoming features.

• You will build and ship features across our React / TypeScript / Tailwind frontend.

• You will own your work, collaborate closely with the team (product, engineering and customer success) and continuously improve our app.

You

• Are an engineer turned designer, or vice versa, or always have been the one on the team understanding the value of easy-to-use interfaces.

• Have 3+ years of experience shipping frontend production code.

• Have 3+ years of experience designing for the web.

• Have a portfolio of projects that show your product sense and design taste.

• May have some interest in upskilling into backend development.

• Are based in Germany and have the right to work here.
