Job summary

Sela in San Francisco is seeking a data scientist to join our growth-stage team building the top-performing AI sales agent for mortgage lenders. You will analyze massive call datasets, run controlled experiments, and turn findings into practical improvements for our real-time decision systems.

As the first data scientist, you will define how data science is done at Sela and collaborate with engineering to scale experimentation, privacy, and performance as we expand with enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data science, ML, or experimentation.
• Strong statistical foundations and experimental design.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with large datasets.
• Able to translate ambiguous problems into actionable metrics.
• Collaborates closely with engineers on experimentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Help us build the top-performing AI sales agent.
• Analyze hundreds of millions of calls to understand drivers of sales outcomes.
• Design and run experiments across every part of the sales call and beyond.
• Build models to personalize and optimize calls for each lead.
• Turn insights into improvements for our AI sales agents.
• Define how data science is done at Sela as we scale.
