Job summary

Embedding VC in New York is looking for a Senior or Staff Data Engineer to establish the data function from the ground up. You will work directly with the CTO and Head of Product to design data capture, storage, and analysis systems, and build BI dashboards for decision-making. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in data engineering, deep SQL fluency, and a proactive approach in a fast-moving environment. This role requires in-person work five days a week, contributing significantly to the company's growth and product strategies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Proven ability to work autonomously as the first data hire.
• Deep SQL fluency with experience in a modern data platform.

Responsibilities

• Audit existing PostHog data and user behaviors.
• Design and implement data models with metadata collection.
