Job summary

The Cypress Group in New York City is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a hybrid team on-site in their NYC office four days per week. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, analytics, and reporting engines while translating stakeholder requirements into robust data models.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with Golang (or Python/Java) and SQL, plus DBT or similar tools, and cloud experience (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable).

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.

• Proficient in SQL and DBT or similar data transformation tools.
• Experience with GCP (AWS acceptable) and building data pipelines.
• BSCS or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from Product, Engineers and client-facing teams and translate to data models.

Job description

Our client is a VC-funded Fintech startup located in New York City that provides cutting-edge technical tools that allows their financial services clients to provide high-level service and returns for their clients. They are currently hiring a Senior Data Engineer to work hybrid on-site in their NYC office 4 days per week.

Qualified candidates will have 5-7+ years of professional hands-on experience working as a Data Engineer including hands-on experience with Golang / Go (or Python, Java and the willingness and ability to learn Golang), SQL, DBT (or a similar data transformation tool), GCP (AWS is okay). Candidates should have experience building data pipelines, analytics and reporting engines and workflows, data modeling, preparartion and presentation to end-users / clients. The Data Engineer will also be responsible for gather and analyzing requirements from various teams and stakeholders (Product Managers, Engineers, Client-facing teams, etc.) and turning those requirements into data models. BSCS or advanced degree preferred.
