Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hollings Cancer Center seeks a nationally recognized leader to found the Co-Director of Cancer Bioinformatics in the DSSR. Qualifications

• PhD/ScD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline.
• Experience leading a bioinformatics team in a biomedical research setting.
• Appointment at Associate or Full Professor in tenure track is expected.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a cancer bioinformatics shared resource with strategic planning, staffing, and budgeting.
• Provide expert support in genetics, genomics, transcriptomics, spatial omics, proteomics, imaging, and multi-omics integration.
• Co-develop projects and grants with cancer center investigators; advance HPC/cloud and data integration.
• Promote FAIR data management and secure computing compliant with HIPAA/IRB.
• Educate and mentor staff, foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
• Co-lead programmatic strategy with Cancer Biostatistics Co-Director and Cancer Center leadership.
• Serve as liaison between Cancer Bioinformatics and Biomedical Informatics Core.
• Lead collaborations between HCC and MUSC AI Center for Health Innovation and Informatics.
