Job summary

fal is building the core platform that powers the company’s generative media ecosystem. We seek a founding backend platform engineer to own billing, pricing, accounts, access, API keys, and model discovery end-to-end.

You’ll design APIs and data models, ensure correctness and resilience, and scale systems to support revenue and customer trust. A pivotal role with broad impact across product, infra, finance, and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production backend systems (Python/TypeScript).
• Strong PostgreSQL skills: schema design, queries, migrations.
• API & data-model design for complex product domains.

Responsibilities

• Own billing and pricing first, including metering and pricing logic.
• Design APIs, data models, and contracts for teams.
• Expand ownership to accounts, access/identity, API keys, model discovery.
• Engineer for correctness, idempotency, auditability, and observability.
• Own operational health and on-call for your systems.
• Partner with product, infra, finance, revenue, security, and customers.
