I’m helping an early-stage AI startup find their first Founding Applied AI/ML Engineer. The team is rethinking how B2B companies manage customer relationships—using AI agents to rebuild customer operations from the ground up, not just augmenting humans but replacing entire layers of outdated systems. The goal is to enable high-touch, personalized service at scale.

You’d be working directly with the technical co-founder and have a huge influence on product architecture and engineering culture from day one.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing the company’s core AI agent architecture
• Creating contextual memory and knowledge graphs that evolve with use
• Implementing systems for AI observability, sentiment analysis, and predictive modeling
• Driving continuous performance improvements through smart feedback loops

Python (FastAPI, SQLModel, Celery), PostgreSQL + pgvector, Redis, React (Vite), Render, LangGraph, Agno, BetterStack, Langfuse

Ideal profile:

• Strong background in applied ML / generative AI
• Wants significant ownership and impact
• Excited by the challenge of building agentic AI systems from scratch
