Tinder is building a focused, startup-like Android engineering team in New York City. You will be the founding Android engineer, shaping architecture, defining product direction, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to life.

This hybrid role requires in-office collaboration three days per week at the New York, NY office. You will own significant components, mentor peers, and deliver scalable features to a global user base.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience developing native mobile applications.
• Extensive experience building applications using Android frameworks.
• Strong software design skills, including design patterns (MVVM, VIPER) and dependency injection.
• Understanding of design guidelines to balance brand identity with platform conventions.
• Clear communication style within a collaborative team environment.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture design and implementation of consumer-facing features in the Tinder Android app.
• Build compelling new in-app experiences for tens of millions of users globally.
• Coordinate with product and design teams and influence the roadmap and product development of the Tinder app and services.
• Create and maintain internal shared frameworks and libraries.
• Mentor, collaborate, and learn with the team.
