Job summary

Legal Prep Charter Academy in Indianapolis seeks a flexible Academic Interventionist & Building Substitute to join its founding team. The role blends immediate classroom coverage with targeted interventions to help students meet grade-level expectations.

The successful candidate will work with teachers and leadership to ensure continuity of instruction, build relationships with students, and contribute to a positive school culture as the school launches in Fall 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Indiana teaching license preferred; candidates eligible for Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit will be considered.
• Experience with middle/high school students preferred.
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to serving underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage for teachers across grades 6–9 when needed.
• Deliver lesson plans prepared by classroom teachers.
• Maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment.
• Implement classroom management aligned with Legal Prep expectations.
• Communicate student progress and activities to teachers when absent.
