Job summary

BDX MEDIA in Los Angeles is seeking a Founder’s Associate to work directly with the founder and turn ideas into action. This role isn’t a traditional assistant; you’ll move strategic and operational initiatives across our US and German businesses, from hiring to launching ventures and refining processes.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in startup operations, consulting, recruiting, talent management, production, hospitality, events, executive support, or another fast-moving environment is helpful.
• We also welcome strong career changers with transferable experience and a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive execution.
• Exceptionally organized and strong at following through.
• High level of ownership and the ability to work without detailed instructions.
• Comfortable holding senior team members accountable without formal authority; able to turn an unstructured conversation into a concrete action plan.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; curious, resourceful, direct, and comfortable with constant change.
• Interested in creative industries, media, entertainment, and entrepreneurship.
• German language skills are helpful but not required.
• Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate.
• Important initiatives continue moving without depending on the founder’s daily attention.
• Every priority has a clear owner, next step, and deadline; follow-ups happen before they become urgent.
• Leadership meetings produce concrete decisions and execution.
• You anticipate what is needed instead of waiting to be asked.

Responsibilities

• Translate the founder’s ideas into clear plans, tasks, owners, and deadlines
• Drive strategic and operational initiatives from kickoff through completion
• Follow up with team members and keep Asana projects accurate and moving
• Prepare and participate in leadership meetings and track resulting decisions
• Coordinate initiatives across the US and German businesses
• Identify missing steps, unclear ownership, and potential roadblocks
• Support recruiting, research, business development, and company-building projects
• Keep the founder focused on the priorities that create the most value
• Challenge ideas constructively and bring structure to fast-moving situations
