As Founder’s Assistant, you’ll be a key operating partner who owns administrative tasks as well as crucial projects and processes in a small business environment. This role sits at the intersection of executive support, project coordination, and business operations. This is a great fit for someone who's done 2-4 years in a fast-paced environment and is ready for broader scope and more autonomy. Only candidates currently based in Columbus, OH will be considered. This is a full time, on-site role.
About the role
What you’ll do
- Partner with the Founder to turn priorities into clear next steps, timelines, and follow-through
- Act as a filter and connector for the Founder, triaging what needs their attention vs. what you can handle or delegate
- Take ownership of special projects such as vendor research, hiring coordination, market research, and fundraising or investor logistics
- Manage the Founder's calendar: scheduling, prioritizing, resolving conflicts, and protecting focus time
- Coordinate travel, including flights, hotels, ground transportation, and detailed itineraries
- Prepare the Founder for meetings: gather background materials, confirm attendees, and make sure they walk in ready
- Draft and proofread routine correspondence, presentations, and internal communications on the Founder's behalf
- Coordinate logistics for board meetings, investor meetings, offsites, and company events
- Process expense reports and invoices, and help maintain organized files and records
- Serve as a liaison between the Founder and employees, customers, vendors, and partners, representing the office with warmth and professionalism
- Serve as a liaison between production and office staff: communicating on inventory, upcoming orders, SOPs, customer requirements, and more.
- Take on ad hoc projects and administrative tasks as priorities shift
What we’re looking for
- 2–4 years of experience in executive support, operations, project coordination, or another fast-paced role requiring strong organization and follow-through
- Small business-minded: you thrive in an environment where you wear multiple hats & can have a meaningful impact from the inside out
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Sound judgment and discretion: you'll regularly encounter sensitive information and situations where there isn't an obvious playbook
- Resourceful and solutions-oriented: when something falls outside your experience, you're comfortable figuring out the path forward
- Strong written and verbal communication, with a professional and friendly presence
- Proactive mindset: you anticipate needs instead of waiting to be asked
- Comfortable with ambiguity and context-switching across very different types of problems
Preferred experience
- Supporting a founder in a fast-paced or growing company
- Coordinating board meetings, investor meetings, or company events
- People management exposure (even informal) or interest in it
