Job summary

Sapience AI Corporation in Seattle/US Remote is seeking a Foundational Model Research Data Scientist to advance foundational models for collective intelligence. You design experiments, evaluate models, and adapt them for professional communities, shaping how Sapience AI understands language and knowledge.

You will contribute to the COGENT architecture and MINERVA, balance performance with safety, and push toward production-ready capabilities in a fast-moving AI environment.

Qualifications

• Strong research background in ML/NLP with graduate degree or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with foundational models and modern LLMs, including training/fine-tuning/evaluation.
• Rigor in experiment design, evaluation, and interpretation of results.
• Strong Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Ability to turn research into production-ready advances.
• Care for safety, bias, and trust in model behavior.
• Clear written communication of technical findings.

Responsibilities

• Design and run experiments on foundational models relevant to collective intelligence.
• Adapt foundational models to professional communities, including fine-tuning and alignment.
• Build rigorous evaluation for accuracy, groundedness, safety, and trust.
• Feed model advances into the COGENT architecture and MINERVA.
• Stay at the frontier of foundational models and share knowledge.
