Qualifications

About the Job:

Responsible for applying and removing casts, splints, and braces. Patient education involves the care of injuries, the use of crutches and other durable medical equipment, and maintaining equipment used in the setting of broken bones and applying traction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Will work directly with orthopedic doctors, surgeons, or Sports Medicine doctors in the treatment of bone and joint disease and/or injuries.

  • Involves the application and removal of casts, splints, and braces; will instruct patients in the proper care for their injuries.

  • Understands how to properly adjust traction equipment, crutches, walkers, and other aids and provides instructions to patients in their use.

  • Intake and discharge of patients in the office setting under the supervision of a provider.

Who You Are:

  • 2-year training program at a college or technical school.

  • Certification required or eligible to test for certification.

  • Epic or EMR experience is a plus!
