Job summary

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Louisiana seeks an experienced accounting professional to provide financial analysis, reporting, and operational support for the Foundation. You will work closely with the Philanthropy Operations Coordinator and Cancer Center Finance to ensure accurate nonprofit accounting practices and timely visibility into fundraising and financial performance.

The role covers budgeting, gift processing, donor-restricted funds, and board-ready dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, nonprofit administration, healthcare finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares financial analyses, budgets, and forecasts that inform Foundation fundraising strategy and support financial reporting.
• Produces reports and dashboards that give Foundation leadership and the Board clear, timely visibility into fundraising and financial performance.
• Oversees gift processing, pledge accounting, and reconciliation in partnership with Philanthropy Operations, ensuring accuracy and continuous process improvement.
• Manages and stewards endowed, restricted, and designated funds to ensure gifts are administered in accordance with donor intent and fund accounting standards.
• Supports special initiatives and compliance projects as directed by Foundation leadership.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field

Job Description:

SCOPE: Provides accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and operational support for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation. Working closely with the Philanthropy Operations Coordinator and in coordination with Cancer Center Finance, this role ensures accurate financial reporting and reconciliation consistent with standard nonprofit accounting practices and standards, and gives Foundation leadership clear, timely visibility into fundraising and financial performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
