Job summary

El Paso County, Colorado, USA is seeking a Part-Time Social Caseworker for the Foster Youth-in-Transition Team to support young people who have experienced out-of-home placement in their path to independence.

You will carry a caseload, conduct monthly home visits, coordinate services, prepare court reports, and engage with families and teams to help youth meet goals while maintaining accurate documentation and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a higher education institution with course work related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social caseworker.
• A degree in progress that is conferred by the start date may be considered.
• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree of Social Work (BSW) or Master's Degree of Social Work (MSW) internship may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews clients and develops appropriate treatment plans; initiates home studies and provides intensive casework services.
• Monitors and reports clients' progress; ensures services are provided and plans followed.
• Addresses child safety issues; ensures interventions for children in custody.
• Provides crisis management and coordinates support services for clients.
• Acts as liaison for DHS and consults with other caseworkers and professionals.
• Attends court hearings and testifies as needed; completes paperwork and court-related forms.
• Documents contacts and maintains accurate paperwork and databases.
• Arranges transportation for clients to appointments and services.
• Ensures compliance with laws and regulations; supports CYFS teams.
• Collects statistics and data on outcomes and performance.
• Facilitates meetings and performs other duties as required.
