Job summary

Judson Center in Dearborn, MI seeks a Foster Family Recruiter/Support Coordinator to recruit and support foster/adoptive families in the region. You will build relationships, present to groups, and connect families with resources to meet placement needs.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• At least 1 year of experience recruiting foster and adoptive parents preferred.
• Knowledge of child welfare policies is preferred.
• Ability to speak to groups and individuals effectively.
• Ability to relate to current and prospective foster/adoptive/kinship families.
• Ability to interact with local DHS and private agency personnel.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the region.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to provide culturally competent services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate yearly recruitment and retention efforts for the assigned region.
• Deliver community presentations to groups of varying sizes.
• Establish rapport with prospective foster families.
• Engage with local foster family communities and groups.
• Identify supportive resources for current and prospective families.
• Maintain knowledge of Foster Care Licensure process and communicate with clients.
• Document contacts, referrals, and information for reporting purposes.
• Maintain contract compliance and participate in required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
