Job summary

Catholic Charities West Michigan is seeking a Foster Care Team Leader to mentor and train new staff at the Grand Rapids site. The role includes providing consultation to colleagues, attending court and meetings, and managing a seven-case caseload.

A strong emphasis is placed on collaboration, training, and supporting staff development. The position offers an annual salary range of $49,000.00–$56,359.13, plus a $5,000 signing bonus for CWTI trained and certified candidates, paid in three

• Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services field is required.
• Minimum 2 years prior work experience in a child placing agency as a foster care case worker.
• CWTI foster care certification and MI-Team Training required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train new staff.
• Attend meetings with staff.
• Carry a caseload of 7 cases.
• Attend court with staff.
• Provide consultation/direction to staff when supervisor is unavailable.
• Attend supervisory training-CWTI.
• Meet with supervisory team as requested.
• Provide feedback to supervisory team regarding new staff performance.
• Lead Peer Supervision meetings.
• Be the Educational Point of Contact and attend Educational meetings with staff when necessary.

Position Summary

This position is responsible to provide mentoring and training new staff. The position also provides support and consultation to other Foster Care Specialists in the Grand Rapids site, including attending court, Family Team Meetings, case conferences, educational meetings, and other meetings as deemed appropriate. The Team Leader will carry a caseload of seven cases.

Annual Salary Range: $49,000.00 - $56,359.13

$5,000.00 signingbonus - CWTI Trained and Certified (Paid in three event increments over 18 months )

• Knowledge of court expectations in multiple counties
• Knowledgeable of DHHS and WMPC policy/procedures
• Knowledgeable of CCWM policies/procedures
• Knowledge of DCWL rules and regulations
• Knowledge of COA standards

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services field is required.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years prior work experience working in a child placing agency as a foster care case worker is required.

Professional Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

This position requires CWTI foster care, and MI-Team Training.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have management or supervisory responsibilities of direct reports, however they provide Peer supervision/training/consultation when supervisor is unavailable.
