FOSTER CARE SUPERVISOR – KALAMAZOO

Full‑time position with benefits and flexible scheduling. $5,000 sign‑on bonus available for candidates with at least two years of experience as a Foster Care Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the unit and supervise, train, and coordinate activities of up to five staff.
• Assist Program Management in hiring, maintaining compliance standards, and communicating the goal of reunification and family retention.
• Assign caseloads and coordinate staff activities across multiple counties and funding sources.
• Assist Program Manager with staff performance management, including recruitment, discipline, and development recommendations.
• Review and sign case records, court documents, and family support worker documentation.
• Provide up‑to‑date in‑service training on new state policies, procedures, legal issues, licensing regulations, and court interface.
• Participate in agency committees and represent the agency in community and interagency activities.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervise professional foster care staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BA/BS in a human service‑related field.
• Four to six years of relevant experience in human services/child welfare, with at least three years at a child welfare agency, child caring institution, or performing a child welfare function.
• Ability to understand, demonstrate, and apply the agency’s workplace values.

Preferred

• MSW/MA and prior supervisory experience.
• Lived experience with behavioral health issues.

Salary

$58,000–$64,000 per year.
