Job summary

Christian Heritage seeks a Foster Care Specialist to support foster families and children, promoting safety, stability, and well-being. You will engage in fieldwork, home visits, court hearings, and Family Team Meetings, ensuring timely reports and strong collaboration with the team.

You will apply trauma-informed practices, advocate for children's needs, and engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen skills and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education, or related human services field REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of or training in Nebraska’s foster care system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Walk alongside foster parents and children to promote safety, stability, and well-being.
• Conduct home visits, attend court hearings and Family Team Meetings, and assist with transportation.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation; submit placement and incident reports on time.
• Collaborate with team and supervisor through regular supervision and meetings.
• Apply trauma-informed practices and advocate for children; participate in ongoing training.
