Job summary

The State of Vermont, Department for Children & Families, Family Services Division in Barre, seeks a Resource Coordinator to support foster care placement assessments, recruitment of foster parents, and kin/support identification. You will work with the family service worker to ensure relatives and natural supports are identified and supported as placement resources.

Responsibilities include providing ongoing support for licensed foster parents, serving as district liaison to the foster parent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Graduate credits in social work, counseling, psychology, or public administration may substitute for experience.
• Four years in child welfare involving recruiting, training, and retaining foster families.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support for licensed foster parents through visits and contacts.
• Serve as district liaison to local foster parent association.
• Develop foster parent contracts and define work scope and payment rates.
• Mediates disputes between foster parents and social workers as needed.
• Ensure foster families respect cultural, ethnic and spiritual values of the families served.
• Follow the Diligent Recruitment process for kin and foster family recruitment and data tracking.
