Job summary

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services seeks a Resource Family Specialist to develop and support resource families for children in need of homes. You will lead recruitment, licensing, retention and case management across diverse cases, ensuring safety and stability for children.

The role requires strong child welfare knowledge, confidentiality, and excellent communication to collaborate with families and agencies, including telework options within Montana state policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
  • One year experience in services for children or recruitment, licensing or retention of foster parents.
  • Ability to work independently and in emotionally charged environments.
  • Strong knowledge of child welfare practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to develop cooperative relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop resource families (foster, kinship, guardianship, adoptive) from inquiry to recruitment and licensing.
  • Provide technical assistance and case management.
  • Resolve problems and evaluate results.
  • Build cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
