Job summary

Wayfinder Family Services in Whittier, CA is seeking a Resource Family Recruiter to grow our foster care and adoption network. This full-time role (30–35 hours/week) focuses on recruiting families, conducting outreach to communities, and presenting at events to build interest in ISFC and adoption.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in social work or related field (or 2 years’ experience), strong communication skills, and experience in outreach, recruitment, or human services.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred, or 2 years’ experience in child welfare will be considered.
• 1–2 years of experience in recruitment, outreach, sales, marketing, community engagement, or human services.
• Two years’ experience with foster care or adoption placement is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish optional or region dependent; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, promote, and lead recruitment events to develop interest in the program among prospective resource families.
• Speak to community groups, organizations, and churches to promote foster care, ISFC, and adoption and target adults in helping professions.
• Discuss program requirements and answer questions with prospective resource families.
• Invite families to agency orientation to learn about the program and services.
• Facilitate orientation sessions virtually or in person as needed.
• Conduct ongoing training for Resource Families including relative families to stay compliant.
• Enter and/or upload information in Famcare, the agency database.
