The Foster Care Recruiter is responsible for recruiting foster care providers, attending recruitment events, coordinating training, and certifying foster homes.

Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Recruit new foster parents by completing monthly recruitment plans, scheduling advertising, attending recruitment events, and interviewing potential foster parents. May act as a consultant in matching intakes.
  • Conduct home inspections to ensure appropriate supervision of youth and families, discussing age and developmentally appropriate supervision, monitoring supervision levels, and addressing concerns. Ensure physical safety through safety assessments, education, and referrals.
  • Certify and recertify foster family homes according to New York State regulations, including preparing home studies and monitoring homes for compliance. Complete emergency certifications for kinship resources.
  • Facilitate training sessions such as Pre-Service, MAPP/GPS II, CPR/First Aid, Caring For Our Own, and Deciding Together.
  • Conduct background checks for foster applicants, including NY State Child Abuse Central Register and criminal record checks, maintaining the FAD database.
  • Maintain case records, prepare reports, and handle invoicing in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with youth.
  • Ability to obtain certifications in MAPP/GPS II, CPR/First Aid, Caring For Our Own, and Deciding Together within 6 months.
  • Flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational, recruitment, engagement, and time management skills.
