Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks a skilled Foster Care Program Supervisor to oversee statewide foster care services. You will lead program staff, coordinate with DCFS, and ensure safety, permanency, and well-being for youth.

You will review plans, mentor staff, and drive quality assurance while collaborating with courts, schools, and community partners. A master’s in social work and licensure are required, with flexibility for non-traditional hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in treatment and specialized foster care with supervisory responsibilities.
• Valid professional child welfare license required by state or contract regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible/non-traditional hours to support foster caregivers and families.
• Proficient use of desktop/laptop computers and software including MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide oversight of the Foster Care Program and staff.
• Collaborate with DCFS to ensure compliance with monitoring measures and policies.
• Review and approve service plans and court reports for reports by direct reports.
• Provide coaching, shadowing, and mentoring to volunteers and staff.
• Coordinate intake, paperwork, and documentation; ensure case coordination and planning.
• Lead staff supervision and maintain records in state portals/EHRs.
• Support family reunification or stabilization aligned with youth case plans.
• Liaise with child welfare agencies, courts, schools, and providers.
• Lead Continuous Quality Assurance activities weekly or monthly.
• Travel as needed to provide services to youth and families.
