Job summary

Catholic Charities West Michigan seeks an Unaccompanied Children Transitional Foster Care Licensing Specialist to assess and license foster home applicants and maintain those homes for placements. You will train and support foster parents and coordinate with program staff to place children under ORR and state requirements.

This on-site, full-time role entails driving, on-call duties, and engaging with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field in human services is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of prior employment experience in child and family services or counseling is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English fluency is preferred.
• Experience working with children and families from diverse cultures with sensitivity to cultural differences is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in recruitment and retention activities.
• Attends and coordinates foster parent events.
• Orients prospective foster families through individual and group processes.
• Trains Pressley Ridge and/or PRIDE and provides other training to foster parents.
• Licenses all TFC foster parents according to ORR and state requirements.
• Maintains foster homes and documentation.
• Provides on-site services for children in care.
• Assists in transporting clients when needed.
• Drives for agency business.
• Attends supervision and staff meetings.
