Job summary

The State of Maine seeks a Community Care Worker in Augusta to ensure resource family home applicants meet required standards for licensing to provide foster, adoptive, or permanency guardianship services for children in care. You will focus on kinship placements and guide families through the resource approval process.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Social Services or Behavioral Science or equivalent experience, with strong communication and information-gathering skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Services or Behavioral Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience in public contact work, information gathering, analysis, documentation, and collaboration.
• Ability to develop and conduct recruitment and training workshops.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home studies and kinship assessments for relatives and fictive kin placements.
• Assist in securing placements for youth using OCFS resources and best practices.
• Share information on strengths of approved resource families to meet child needs.
• Provide ongoing support to resource family applicants and approved families.
• Recruit and train resource families.
