The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Bangor, ME is seeking a Social Services professional to conduct home studies, kinship assessments, and foster care investigations, and to support resource families in securing placements.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or Behavioral Science and demonstrate strong information gathering, motivational interviewing, and communication skills. Some travel and overtime may be required.

Formación

• Bachelor's or four-year combination of education, training and/or experience providing services to and with children and/or families.
• Experience with information gathering, analysis and collaboration.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct home studies and foster home investigations to determine placements.
• Assist in securing placements for youth entering care.
• Provide information to teams about resource family strengths and contributions.
• Provide ongoing support to resource family applicants and approved resource families.
• Recruit and train resource families and provide ongoing support.
• Explain the resource approval process to families and support them through steps.
