Job summary

County of Davidson is seeking a Social Worker III- Licensing to recruit, train, license, and re-license foster families. You will manage ICPC/intercounty home studies, assess families, and monitor foster placements for children in Davidson County DSS custody.

The role requires state licensing knowledge, strong interviewing skills, and collaboration with private agencies and LME/MCOs. Travel and emergency shelter duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to child welfare.
• Knowledge of psychological problems.
• Knowledge of child development casework.
• Good interviewing skills.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of trauma and effects of placement moves on children.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to foster parents to ensure children’s needs are met.
• Completes licensing paperwork within mandated timeframes.
• Performs home visits and assessments for licensure suitability.
• Conducts re-licensing and updates paperwork.
• Plans and conducts MAPP training for foster/adoptive parents.
• Maintains records and monitors placement safety and compliance.
• Collaborates with foster care workers to resolve issues.
• Monitors placement searches for children entering care and those in care.
• Attends CPS staffing to obtain placement information.
• Provides after-hours placement duties on a rotating basis.
