Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a Foster Care Liaison to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and to support foster students’ enrollment, stability, and academic success by partnering with social services, courts, caregivers, and schools.

The role includes coordinating enrollment processes, transportation, and records transfers; facilitating BID meetings and planning conferences; training staff on regulations; and collecting data to monitor outcomes and program compliance.

Qualificações

• Extensive knowledge of the public education system and agencies serving youth in foster care.
• Understanding of current laws governing educational services for youth in foster care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Promotes policies related to youth in foster care aligned with laws and educational stability requirements.
• Establishes division-wide processes for tracking enrollment, attendance, data reporting, and transportation for foster youth.
• Facilitates timely school enrollment, records requests, and transfers with partners to minimize disruptions.
• Identifies and reduces barriers to school access for foster youth.
• Schedules and conducts BID meetings and educational planning conferences.
• Coordinates transportation with the Student Transportation Department and child welfare agencies.
• Provides training and guidance on foster care regulations and enrollment procedures.
• Assists with data collection and reporting to monitor outcomes and compliance.
• Builds cooperative relationships with social services agencies and community stakeholders.
