Job summary

Medtronic plc in Minnesota is seeking an IT Forward Deployed Engineer to translate business challenges into scalable technology solutions within Global Supply Management. You’ll design, prototype, and implement integrations, automation, and data-driven platforms closely with business teams.

The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, concept validation, and secure, scalable architectures across enterprise systems, leveraging AI and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or related field with 4+ years of IT/software engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience designing or delivering enterprise tech solutions involving software development, APIs, system integration, automation, or data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with modern programming or scripting languages and cloud-based or enterprise platforms.
• For international degrees, compliance requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Global Supply Management leaders, product teams, and architects to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Rapidly design, prototype, and deliver solutions using APIs, integrations, automation, data platforms, AI, and modern development approaches.
• Develop proofs of concept and MVPs to test business value, technical feasibility, UX, and scalability before full deployment.
• Integrate solutions across enterprise platforms and data sources while ensuring secure, maintainable architectures.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor capabilities for applicability to GSM problems.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and process challenges across applications, data flows, and workflows.
• Transition prototypes into sustainable enterprise capabilities with architecture, cybersecurity, and product teams.
• Create reusable patterns, docs, and approaches to accelerate future delivery.
