Job summary

Block MB is hiring for an AI Engineer to bridge healthcare finance problems with agentic AI systems. You will configure workspaces, build AI agents and ML models on existing infrastructure, and present solutions to finance leaders.

Strong Python/SQL, hands-on LLM tooling, and experience shipping ML to production are required. This role sits with our AI/Analytics teams to turn data into decisions, with ownership of end-to-end deployment.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years in data science, applied ML or analytics.
• Shipped applied ML, predictive models or AI agents to production for a customer and owned them end to end.
• Hands-on healthcare experience: claims, EHR, revenue cycle or financial data, from consulting, forward deployed or health tech.
• Strong Python and SQL, both hands-on
• Hands-on LLM and agentic tooling, including building and evaluating agents in real work
• Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
• Comfort building dashboards, BI output or lightweight front-end presentation layers
• Customer-facing technical experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders
• Ownership of version control and CI/CD workflows, not just committing code
• Bachelor's or higher in a quantitative field, or equivalent applied ML build experience

We are hiring on behalf of a venture-backed AI company building the agentic platform for healthcare finance. Founded in 2024, over $30M raised, and already deployed by health systems managing over $5B in combined revenue. The team is 27 people, so this is early equity with real traction behind it.

Healthcare providers drive $2.5 trillion in medical expenditures a year on 2 to 5 percent margins, and the finance teams behind them still live in spreadsheets and manual data pulls. This platform gives every finance team, department and service line its own set of AI agents that run continuously against their own data, business logic and workflows.

The role:

You will sit between real customer problems in healthcare finance and the agentic AI and ML systems that solve them. The AI Engineering team owns agent infrastructure, harnesses and core architecture, and the Analytics Engineering team maintains the unified data ontology. Your job is to build on top of that: stand up new agents and models for specific customer problems, configure the presentation layer that makes their output usable, and work directly with finance leaders to turn those capabilities into decisions they trust.
