Job summary

Baidu USA is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern in Mountain View, CA for a 3-month, full-time, on-site internship. You will bridge technology and customers, design solutions, build prototypes, and troubleshoot integrations to move applications from testing to production.

The role requires hands-on coding, API interaction, and collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to loop customer feedback back into the product.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed CS/Engineering degree.
• Experience with REST APIs, backend/web apps.
• Familiarity with AI stacks (LLMs, retrieval, RAG).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Clear communication with customers.
• Availability to work full-time on-site in the Bay Area for at least 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements, architecture, and use cases.
• Help customers integrate Querit Search API into AI agents, RAG systems, research tools, and other AI applications.
• Build demos, prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and reference implementations for customer use cases.
• Debug technical issues across API integrations and move customers from evaluation to production.
• Advise customers on search quality, latency, retrieval strategies, and integration best practices.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to identify recurring needs and blockers to improve the product.
• Create reusable sample code, integration guides, demos, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business teams during evaluations, onboarding, and deployment.
• Communicate with developers, founders, and engineering teams during technical discussions.
