Job description

TeleTracking began with a simple but powerful belief that no one should wait for the care they need. More than a slogan, it’s a promise to continually improve healthcare.

TeleTracking builds groundbreaking technology incorporating deep clinical expertise. Our solutions are used in the nation’s largest healthcare systems and around the world to positively impact patients, families and communities.

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is part engineer, part solution architect, part product development, and part client‑facing problem solver. This role works side‑by‑side with health system leaders, clinicians, IT teams, and operational stakeholders to understand complex hospital and ambulatory workflows, translate operational challenges into technical solution prototypes, and deploy scalable solutions that improve patient care, optimize workflows, and drive data‑informed decision‑making.

FDEs operate in ambiguous healthcare environments where product, workflow, data, and client needs intersect, turning fragmented clinical and operational data into actionable insights and measurable customer value.

What you will do
  • Work directly with health system stakeholders, clinicians, administrators, IT teams, and frontline users to understand operational pain points and translate them into solution prototypes that solve meaningful problems.
  • Support client deployments from discovery through configuration, integration, validation, go‑live, adoption, and value measurement.
  • Design, build, and deploy healthcare‑specific solutions using data pipelines, transformation logic, object models, dashboards, workflow tools, AI tools, and platform capabilities.
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate based on feedback from frontline users and operational leaders.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Client Success teams to convert client needs into repeatable product capabilities and scalable software applications.
  • Work with structured and unstructured healthcare data from multiple sources supporting data mapping, workflow design, integration planning, testing, and operational validation.
  • Assist in identifying data quality issues, workflow gaps, implementation risks, and adoption barriers that may impact client outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner during engagements by onboarding users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring solutions align with quality, safety, security, and regulatory priorities.
  • Communicate implementation progress, technical findings, and business outcomes to both technical and non‑technical audiences, including hospital executives and department leaders.
  • Define, track, and report measurable outcomes to ensure deployed solutions create intended operational and customer value.
  • Perform other related duties to facilitate client success.
What we look for
  • A genuine interest in improving healthcare operations, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, healthcare informatics, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solution engineering, technical implementation, data engineering, healthcare IT, software engineering, platform engineering, or systems integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers to solve complex operational problems during discovery, implementation, or deployment projects.
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently in teams of technical and non‑technical individuals, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments with incomplete information and evolving requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage frontline users, operational leaders, IT teams, executives, product managers, and engineers.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and embed with healthcare organizations across the U.S. for discovery, deployment, validation, and client development activities.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in healthcare technology, provider operations, or health system environments.
  • Experience with EHR vendors and healthcare systems such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, athenahealth, Meditech, or Altera/Allscripts.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and tools, including HL7, FHIR, APIs, ADT feeds, interface engines, claims data, and related healthcare data structures.
  • Experience with hospital operations such as patient flow, transfer center operations, bed management, perioperative operations, emergency departments, capacity command centers, ambulatory care, or enterprise visibility.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with ontology‑based data modeling, workflow automation, decision intelligence platforms, or tools such as Palantir Foundry is a plus.
  • Experience with TeleTracking‑like capabilities, including capacity orchestration, operational decision support, and throughput optimization, is a plus.
Desired Competencies
  • Demonstrated system‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Customer‑first mindset with a strong ownership mentality.
  • Ability to bridge technical, operational, and product conversations.
  • High attention to detail and execution quality.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and pragmatic team player.
  • Comfort working in complex healthcare environments with messy data and changing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and consultative partnership skills.
  • Ability to translate real‑world healthcare operations into secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information system, or information technology or other related discipline. (required)
  • Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information system, or information technology or other related discipline. (preferred)
