The Opportunity

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you'll work directly with enterprise clients to identify, design, build and deploy high-impact AI solutions using modern LLMs, agentic AI frameworks and enterprise AI platforms.

This is a highly customer-facing engineering role sitting at the intersection of software engineering, AI architecture, product thinking and consulting. You'll partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand complex workflows, design AI-native solutions and build production-ready systems that deliver tangible business value.

Every engagement is different. You could be building AI-powered applications, intelligent search platforms, enterprise copilots, agentic workflows, workflow automation, developer platforms or modern AI-enabled user experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable AI solutions.
• Design, build and deploy enterprise-grade AI applications, agentic workflows, copilots, knowledge assistants and decision-support systems.
• Lead discovery workshops to identify automation opportunities and define measurable business outcomes.
• Architect AI solutions integrating foundation models, enterprise systems, APIs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks and data platforms.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, evaluation frameworks, prompt strategies, memory patterns and guardrails.
• Rapidly prototype AI solutions before productionising them with the required governance, observability, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, security and executive stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Create reusable solution accelerators, reference architectures, technical demonstrations and best practices.
• Support clients in establishing AI operating models covering governance, adoption, evaluation and long-term success.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering experience building production applications, APIs, distributed systems or enterprise platforms.
• Hands-on experience developing AI applications using one or more leading LLM platforms such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Amazon Bedrock or Palantir AIP.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions, RAG applications, AI copilots, workflow automation or intelligent enterprise applications.
• Strong Python development experience with modern engineering practices.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, FastAPI or modern web application development is highly desirable.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI or similar.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI architecture including model gateways, vector databases, orchestration, observability, governance and evaluation.
• Experience working with cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake or Palantir Foundry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving, customer-facing consulting environments where solving complex problems is part of the day-to-day.

Preferred Experience

• Delivering AI solutions within enterprise or regulated environments.
• Background in consulting, solution architecture, forward-deployed engineering, product engineering or technical pre-sales.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop workflows, approval chains and enterprise automation.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, model evaluation, security, compliance and responsible AI.
• Experience producing client-facing technical artefacts including solution architectures, implementation roadmaps and executive presentations.
