OJ Digital is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in the United States. This remote role involves frequent travel to customer sites, owning the design, development and deployment of AI solutions for enterprise customers.

Formación

• 3–7 years of software, full-stack, applied AI or forward-deployed engineering experience.
• Proven production AI systems with measurable value.
• Strong backend, APIs and cloud skills.
• Experience with client-facing delivery and deployments.
• Experience with LLM workflows, RAG or agents; quality improvement.
• Based in the US and able to travel; near a major airport; Chicago welcome.
• Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

The Role

We're working with a venture-backed AI business looking to hire a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and deploy production AI solutions for enterprise customers.

The business helps organisations turn complex documents, fragmented data and manual processes into reliable, AI-powered workflows. You'll work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and own technical delivery from initial requirements through to deployment.

You'll build on a shared platform, developing LLM workflows, RAG pipelines and AI agents that solve practical business problems. Engagement managers support the customer relationship and requirements gathering, giving you more time to focus on engineering and delivery.

This is an opportunity to join an early-stage team, work closely with the founders and influence both customer solutions and the wider platform.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience shipping AI systems used in production by real users, with clear evidence of practical value.
• Typically 3-7 years of software, full-stack, applied AI or forward-deployed engineering experience.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, particularly across backend development, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working directly with clients or end users to build and deliver solutions.
• Hands-on experience with LLM workflows, RAG or agents, including evaluating and improving output quality.
• Confidence working through messy data, ambiguous requirements and production reliability challenges.
• A strong portfolio or GitHub presence, computer vision or fine-tuning experience, and end-to-end full-stack delivery would all be advantageous.
• Based in the US, able to travel frequently and ideally located near a major airport. Chicago-based candidates are particularly welcome.
• Authorised to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
