Rather than replacing legal professionals, the technology addresses one of the legal industry’s longest-standing administrative and operational challenges.

About the Role

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering and customer success, partnering directly with strategic enterprise customers.

This is the most client-facing engineering role within the company. The successful candidate will own strategic customer relationships, lead technical onboarding, and translate customer requirements into scalable product solutions.

Although highly customer-facing, this role carries the same technical expectations as a core Software Engineer. Candidates should be comfortable writing and shipping production code while working closely with senior stakeholders and helping shape product direction through direct customer engagement.

Experience building or integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines is particularly valuable for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Partner directly with strategic enterprise customers and support successful product implementations.

Own technical onboarding alongside the Customer Success team.

Develop AI-powered product capabilities, including prototyping and integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.

Visit customers regularly to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Build and ship production software using the same technology stack as the core engineering team.

Develop scalable solutions that address customer-specific needs while supporting the broader product.

Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience and Skills

Must Have

2–8 years of experience working within high-growth startups.

Strong full-stack software engineering experience.

Hands-on experience with AWS, Go, React, and TypeScript.

Experience building or integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.

Ability to work directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable balancing customer engagement with hands-on engineering responsibilities.

Ability to translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Nice to Have

Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or in a comparable customer-facing technical role.

Experience working within legal technology, fintech, or another highly regulated industry.

Experience leading technical onboarding or enterprise software implementations.

Familiarity with serverless and microservices-based architectures.
