Job summary

Stealth Startup seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their on-site team supporting large industrial facilities. You will architect, build, and deploy agentic software across the full stack, interfacing with plant APIs and legacy systems to deliver real-time improvements.

You will work directly with founders and customer plant engineers, taking ownership of challenges and iterating rapidly to meet demanding client needs while scaling the company’s agentic platform.

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000 base + meaningful equity % + benefits

Backed by top VCs after an oversubscribed seed round, we are developing an agentic AI workforce that serves as the operating layer for the world’s most critical industrial facilities. Everyday products—from electronics to plastics to fuels—begin inside industrial plants, yet these facilities often rely on legacy systems while facing severe labor shortages. Our agentic platform enables complex plants to operate safely, efficiently, and at scale.

The Role As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will work directly alongside our domain experts, founders, and customer plant engineers. You will lead the development of our agentic capabilities while delivering immediate, high-value impact on‑site and in production.

What You Will Do

• Build Full-Stack Agentic Systems: Architect, build, and deploy agentic-first software across the full stack (frontend, backend, and core agent frameworks).
• Industrial Data Integration: Build robust integrations with diverse data sources, including real-time plant APIs, legacy industrial systems, and specialized engineering software.
• Deploy On-Site & Iterate: Work directly inside customer plants alongside operational staff to gather real-time feedback, iterate on features, and rapidly deploy solutions.
• Drive Full Autonomy: Take complete ownership of customer technical challenges, tailoring agentic systems to meet the unique operational demands of billion-dollar facilities.
• Shape Company Culture: Collaborate daily with the founding team, directly influencing company direction, technical roadmap, and culture as we scale.

• Driven Software Engineering Background: Strong experience in full‑stack development, distributed systems, or AI/ML integrations.
• Bias for Action & Autonomy: High motivation to solve ambiguous, real‑world problems directly alongside end‑users.
• System Integration Skills: Ability to work with non‑standard APIs, legacy software architectures, and real‑time streaming data.
• Willingness to Travel: Comfortable spending up to 25% of your time on‑site at major industrial facilities.
