Job summary

scalr, a frontier AI research and deployment leader in San Francisco, seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to push cutting-edge models from the lab into enterprise production. You will own the technical strategy and end-to-end delivery for customers at the edge of AI adoption.

You will architect agentic systems, orchestrate LLM workflows across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, and partner with research to tailor models for client needs.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background shipping production systems.
• Hands-on with modern AI stacks (RAG, vector databases, agent orchestration, evals, fine-tuning).
• Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build agentic systems with state-of-the-art models.
• Orchestrate LLM workflows and integrate with enterprise infrastructure.
• Collaborate with research teams to tailor models to customer needs.
• Ship reliable systems across cloud, VPC and on-prem environments.
• Help write the playbook for a growing FDE org from the ground up.
