Job summary

Google Cloud’s Forward Deployed Engineer (Applied AI) leads the engineering lifecycle from rapid prototypes to scalable, secure AI systems at customer sites. You will guide Conversational AI pilots, establish Customer User Journeys for major clients, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

This role requires software engineering, ML ops, and cloud infra expertise, with travel up to 50% and a strong emphasis on real-world business value and scalable deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience with software development using Python or similar languages.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
• Experience deploying resources via Terraform or similar tools to automate setup of agents, functions, or networking.
• Experience building full-stack applications that interact with enterprise IT infrastructures and developing external customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead developer for conversational AI and customer experience applications, turning prototypes into production-grade workflows.
• Architect and code conversational flows optimized for integration with customer live infrastructure and security perimeters.
• Build high-performance Eval pipelines and observability frameworks for agentic workloads.
• Identify reusable patterns and friction points in the AAI stack and translate into product features for Engineering.
• Co-build with customer teams to ensure long-term project success and adoption.
