Job summary

SCAN is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with our teams, turning messy healthcare problems into production AI systems. You will design, prototype, and deploy AI-enabled applications using LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and modern workflows to improve outcomes for our members and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications and integrating LLMs.
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering and agent orchestration.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms and cloud services (Azure).
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Embed with SCAN teams to analyze workflows, challenges, and priorities.

The next could automate administrative operations or help employees make better decisions with enterprise knowledge.You'll partner closely with business leaders, product owners, architects, and platform engineers to turn ambiguity into production systems.Essential Job Functions:Business Partnership & DiscoveryEmbed with SCAN’s teams to understand workflows, operational challenges, and strategic priorities.Lead discovery activities including stakeholder interviews, workflow observation, process analysis, and opportunity assessment.Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical requirements and measurable success criteria.Build trusted relationships with SCAN leaders and serve as a strategic technology partner.AI Solution Design & DeliveryDesign, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled applications using SCAN’s large language models (LLMs), AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), workflow automation, APIs, and modern software engineering practices.
