Job summary

Network Controls & Electric, LLC is seeking a Fortinet-Certified Network Security Technician in Greer, SC. You will configure and deploy Fortinet security solutions from design through implementation and troubleshoot installations.

Qualifications

• Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) for FortiGate 7.x; current or renewed in 2025/2026.
• Fortinet Certified Specialist (FCSS) certification strongly preferred.
• Hands-on Fortinet deployments: firewall policy config, site-to-site/SSL VPN, VLANs, routing, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience with cellular failover or mobile/vehicle network deployments a plus.
• Familiarity with FortiOS firmware versions and upgrade procedures.
• Ability to design and document network security implementations for customers.
• Strong LAN/WAN troubleshooting across security platforms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Upstate SC client sites.
• Relevant experience in network admin/IT services or network security preferred.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities

Network Controls & Electric, LLC is hiring a full-time Fortinet-Certified Network Security Technician. You will configure and deploy new Fortinet security solutions including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP access points handling projects from design through implementation, troubleshooting equipment installed by others, upgrades, and documentation. A key focus will be helping complete our ongoing project deploying FortiExtender Vehicle 511G units for in-vehicle cellular connectivity. You will also support installed Fortinet environments and work alongside our field technicians and office estimators. With our wide and diverse client base, you'll also have the opportunity to work with other network platforms like Cisco, Aruba, and others. This is a direct employee position based in Greer with travel to customer sites across the Upstate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular physical activity, including walking customer sites during surveys, climbing ladders, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

• Valid Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certification in FortiGate 7.x — certification must be current, issued or renewed in 2025 or 2026 (Fortinet certifications expire two years from issue date; proof of current status required)
