Job summary

Gowan Company is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Arizona to support formulation development and testing of crop protection products. The role involves preparing formulations, conducting physical and chemical analyses, and ensuring data integrity in lab reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical & Process Engineering or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of chemical laboratory experience preparing formulations for agriculture, cosmetics, pharma, cleaners, or food/personal care industries.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-phase mixtures (dispersions, emulsions) with formulation production or analytical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support formulation ingredient changes and substitutions per business needs.
  • Conduct physical and chemical testing of formulations for crop protection products.
  • Check chemical stability with analytical tests (LC, GC, GC-MS) and interpret results.
  • Prepare lab reports documenting compositions, tests, and methods.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Legal to meet project timelines.
  • Travel (<10%) to conferences, field tests, or training.
