Job summary

PTC Therapeutics, Inc is seeking a Scientist II, Formulation Development to design, develop and characterize phase-appropriate formulations for small molecule drug products. You will perform preformulation studies, scale-up, tech transfer to CMOs, and support regulatory submissions with IND/CTA sections.

Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential; experience with DoE, QbD and GMP environments is preferred. This is a full-time position based in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical science, material science, chemistry or related field with minimum 2 years of relevant experience OR Masters with 4 years OR Bachelors with 6 years in discovery formulation or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops robust formulations and manufacturing processes for small molecule compounds.
• Performs pre-formulation, formulation, and process development studies; supports tech transfers to CMOs.
• Develops formulations enabling delivery of water-insoluble compounds via multiple routes.
• Conducts QbD risk assessments and DoE studies; summarizes results for stakeholders.
• Maintains instrumentation and documents experimental work in notebooks.
