Chemical Engineering Recruitment Consultant at DSJ Global

Location: Bay Area -- Albany, CA (Hybrid)

A pioneering company in eco-friendly home care products is looking to add a Formulation Chemist to its expanding R&D team based in the Bay Area, CA. This is a full-time hybrid position, with relocation support.

The Formulation Chemist will be responsible for:

Develop new formula prototypes, conduct lab testing, and participate in pilot plant trials under the direction of the Director of R&D.
Coordinate off-site and third-party testing to validate product performance.
Maintain detailed records of experiments, stability testing, and analytical results.
Analyze and interpret test data to provide actionable insights for product enhancement.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency and reliability.
Perform routine quality checks on raw materials and finished products.
Oversee lab equipment maintenance and calibration.
Maintain laboratory safety protocols in compliance with local regulations.
Manage inventory of lab supplies and raw materials.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.

The Formulation Chemist should have the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of formulation and product development experience in personal care, beauty, or home care products (preferred).
Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), mixtures experiments, and statistical approaches.
Ability to conduct experiments, collect and organize data, and prepare reports.
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP for ANOVA, DOE, Process Control) preferred.
Python or basic coding experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the role.
