Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Formula Technician to manage patient formula orders, weigh and prepare formulas per physician orders using aseptic technique, and assist with communication around protocols for the children served.

The role requires adherence to departmental policies, proper hand hygiene, temperature control during transport and delivery, and maintaining clean preparation and storage areas to ensure safe, timely delivery of formulas.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Health-Related Field preferred.
• 6 months healthcare work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, measure, and prepare formulas per physician orders using aseptic technique.
• Calculate formula recipes per physician order.
• Escalate concerns about medical order errors appropriately.
• Ensure timely delivery of modified or special formulas to patient care areas.
• Maintain proper uniform and comply with policies.
• Perform hand hygiene and maintain proper temperature control of products during transport and delivery.
• Maintain environmental cleanliness of office space, prep room, and product storage.
