Job summary

Howmet Fastening Systems is seeking a Forming Tech III, Nutformer- 1st Shift at the Fullerton, CA site to set up and operate Nut Formers to produce parts per print tolerances.

The role requires 5–7 years in nut former setup, ability to read drawings, and advanced troubleshooting. Will lift up to 30 lbs, work on-site in Fullerton with standard production hours and a strong quality focus.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years' experience in set up operation of five to seven dye nut formers or equivalent.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems at an advanced level.
• Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturers drawings and instructions.
• Ability to use inspection gauges and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operates and sets up National and Formax Nut Formers to produce parts to tolerances.
• Selects and adjusts punches, dye sets, and assemblies dyes with hydraulic press.
• Sets machine speeds, feeds and stops and checks parts using gauges.
• Maintains metal flow knowledge to avoid fractures and folds.
• Identifies and corrects improper machine functioning and assists trainees.
• Parts may weigh up to 30 lbs; keeps area clean and safe.
