Job summary

Shine Foods, Inc. is seeking a production operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of forming area machinery. You will calibrate and run equipment, feed materials, monitor output, and maintain quality while following GMPs and safety rules.

The role includes basic troubleshooting, documenting production data, and supporting a shift team in a busy plant environment. The position requires ability to read production schedules, meet Shine’s quality standards, and operate in a loud environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machines.
• Configure equipment, load materials, operate machines, and optimize capability.
• Oversee basic maintenance and ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle and control settings (e.g., speed).
• Feed raw material into hoppers and rollers; monitor operation for accurate product measurements.
• Communicate mechanical issues to maintenance and maintain production rates with low waste.
• Complete necessary documentation and reports; assist in directing and training team members.
• Ensure safety and GMP adherence; read and follow daily production schedules.

Job description

The position is responsible for performing various duties to ensure the overall safe and proper operation of various machinery in the forming area, maintaining all safety and quality processes, adjusting the machines to optimum settings, obtaining minimal downtime, fewest rejects with efficient output and product switchovers.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machines.
• Ensuring machine-specific functions, such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability.
• Oversee the basic maintenance, and they are responsible for the product quality.
• Set up machines(calibration, cleaning etc.) tostart a production cycle and control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
• Constantly feed raw material (dough and filling mixes) into proper hoppers, and rollers throughout the shift.
• Continually monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements are maintained.
• Communicate mechanical and operational issues to the maintenance team as they arise.
• Maintain standard production rates, low waste and meet Shine requirements.
• Complete all necessary documentation and reports.
• Assists in directing and training employees assigned to a specific area, looking out for safety, and adherence to GMPs, and communicates and delegates tasks to team members per Supervisor's instructions.
• Responsible for the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the companies' quality systems, processes, and procedures.
• Operates machinery, equipment, and tools safely and proficiently according to standards, guidelines, and instructions and assigned machinery speeds.
• Assemble/Disassemble machines for use or changeovers. Ability to properly lubricate all moving parts to prevent damage due to friction.
• Must be able to read, understand, and adhere to daily production schedules.
• Must be able to read and understand product specifications established by Shine Foods and recognize deviations from those specifications.
• Performs clean-up activities as assigned.
• May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
• Monitors and enforces cGMPs
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs

Language Requirement:

• Ability to understand written and oral direction in English and/or Spanish.

Physical Requirement:

• Occasionally carry and/or lift 50 Lbs.
• Must have the ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb, fill raw material into machine.
• Ability to walk through production areas.
• Must be able to work in a loud environment.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Schedule: 1st or 2nd shift
